The Fish Farmer Training Centre is situated at Shalimar, Near Vidhan Sabha, Dhurwa Ranchi. It was started in the year 2010-11 as the first state level Fisheries Training Centre in Jharkhand. The vision of this training centre is to focus more on scientific skill development and extension activities of fish farmers. The FFTC is adequately staffed with a sanctioned strength of 13 including teaching positions and non teaching positions, which is headed by the Chief Instructor. This centre is about 6 Km from Ranchi Railway Station and 3 Km from Hatia Railway Station.

Objective Of The Training Centre

• To develop technical Fish Farmers for the fisheries sector.
• To cater skill development on different modules of Seed Raising Ornamental Fish Rearing Intensive Fish Culture Integrated fish farming etc.

Infrastructure At The Main Campus

Infrastructures at the main campus include fish farm spread over 20 acres, Carp Breeding Hatchery, Laboratory, Ornamental fish rearing facility, Floating Feed Preparation unit and Modern state of art audio visual Facilities.

Achievements

• Till date more than 40,000 fish farmers have been trained and they are successfully utilizing their skill in their farming.
